If you’ve been on Cebu foodtok or scrolling through local foodie pages lately, you’ve likely seen M Pochero popping up again and again. Located on the second floor of Bonifacio District, this restaurant has gone viral for its giant, beefy, bone marrow-filled Pochero that’s been making serious waves in Cebu’s food scene. And yes—we finally gave it a try.
What to Expect
M Pochero is a Filipino restaurant that’s all about bold flavors and big servings, ideal for family-style dining or barkada food trips. At the center of it all is their Malou’s Pochero XL—a dish so rich, tender, and satisfying it easily ranks as one of the best pochero bowls we’ve had in Cebu.

This isn’t your typical beef soup. It’s a massive serving made for sharing, filled with ultra-tender beef shanks, sweet corn, fresh greens, and the star of the show—a giant slab of bone marrow that melts right into the broth. The soup is intensely flavorful, simmered to perfection, and downright comforting. If you’re a pochero lover, this is your bucket list bowl.
And here’s a bonus: Every Saturday, they feature live bands, so you can enjoy your pochero and pulutan with a side of great music. It’s a full-on chill and chow experience—good food, good company, and even better vibes.

Here’s what we tried—and what we thought:
Soup
- Malou’s Pochero XL – An absolute showstopper. The beef was so tender it practically fell apart with a spoon, and the broth had a deep, hearty flavor that speaks of hours of careful slow-cooking. The bone marrow? Pure umami gold. Every spoonful is rich, satisfying, and comforting—a bowl that feels like home. Definitely worth the hype and a must-order when you visit.

Appetizers
- Gambas – Buttery, garlicky, and slightly spicy. The shrimp was cooked just right—juicy and plump—and great as a starter or pulutan.

- Chicharon Bulaklak – A bit oily when you bite into it, but so good. Crispy, sinful, and indulgent—exactly how chicharon bulaklak should be. Best enjoyed with a bottle of beer or spooned over hot rice.

- Sizzling Sisig – Flavor-packed with a good balance of crisp and chew. Not too greasy, with just enough zing from calamansi and chili to keep you going back for more.

Chicken
- Battered Chicken – Tasty, tender, and golden-fried. The coating was crisp without being too thick, and the meat inside was juicy and well-seasoned. Perfect for kids or anyone craving something straightforward and satisfying.

Noodles
- Pancit Canton – A solid rendition of a classic. Stir-fried with veggies and meat bits, this was saucy, savory, and comforting—great as a filler or side to all the meat-heavy mains.

Seafood
- Sweet and Sour Fish Pompano – The fish was fresh and fried to perfection, with the skin still crisp under that glossy sweet-sour sauce. Balanced and bright in flavor, this dish really stood out.

- Crispy Shrimp – Lightly breaded and deep-fried, these bite-sized shrimp were crunchy and addictive. Great with dipping sauce or eaten as-is.

- Sizzling Squid – Served hot and sizzling with savory seasoning. The squid had the right amount of chew and was tasty enough to enjoy without needing extra sauce.

Drinks to Cool You Down
Their mocktail selection is refreshing and colorful—ideal for cooling off between all the rich dishes. The Mimosa Sunrise was my personal favorite: citrusy, slightly fizzy, and super refreshing without being too sweet.

Final Thoughts
M Pochero is not just a trending spot—it’s a full-blown Filipino food experience. From the viral Pochero to their pulutan favorites and seafood specials, it’s a place that delivers on both flavor and portions. Add in live music every Saturday night, and you’ve got a perfect weekend hangout spot.
