In Cebu’s ever-growing café scene, it’s not unusual to stumble upon a place that’s beautiful but forgettable once the plates hit the table. Clubhaus Coffee, however, is breaking that stereotype. Located along Pope John Paul II Avenue — just a quick seven-minute walk from Cebu IT Park — this new café pairs a calm, minimalist aesthetic with food and drinks that actually deliver on taste.

I first heard about Clubhaus from a friend who couldn’t stop raving about it. Since it’s practically near my neighborhood, I decided to drop by — and I’m glad I did. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a space bathed in natural light, softened by few leafy greens, and designed with a cozy yet modern touch. It’s a café that feels effortlessly Instagrammable without trying too hard.

But here’s the pleasant surprise: the food is just as memorable as the interiors. Too often, “Instagrammable” is shorthand for “style over substance,” but Clubhaus manages to offer both — generous portions, balanced flavors, and presentation that matches the space’s clean, inviting vibe.
Currently in its soft opening phase, the menu is small but thoughtful. I also heard they’ll be adding more dishes soon, which only gives me another reason to come back.
What I Tried at Clubhaus Coffee
Clubhaus Sando
If there’s one dish that sums up Clubhaus’ approach, it’s this one. The sando is generously filled with ham, egg salad, and bacon, layered between thick slices of soft bread. Each bite balances savory, smoky, and creamy textures — satisfying enough to be a meal on its own.

HK French Toast
Fluffy, golden, and indulgent, their French toast is filled with a rich peanut butter spread that instantly felt nostalgic. It reminded me of locally made peanut butter — the kind that comes in a plastic jar — giving it a comforting, homegrown charm. Like the sando, the serving is big enough to share. It also reminded me a bit of Kam Wah Cafe, a famous cha chaan teng in Hong Kong that serves really good French toast too!

Shawarma Rice
A familiar favorite, this plate comes with flavorful spiced meat, sauce, and rice — simple, satisfying, and exactly what you’d expect when craving comfort food with a Middle Eastern twist.
Shrimp Pesto Pasta
Fresh and vibrant, this pesto pasta is tossed with plump, juicy shrimp and coated in a basil-forward sauce with a touch of garlic and Parmesan. It’s flavorful and satisfying, with the seafood adding a light, briny sweetness that pairs well with the herby pesto.

The Drinks
We paired our meal with two drinks — a Spanish Latte, which was smooth and balanced with just the right sweetness, and a Dirty Horchata, creamy and lightly spiced, offering a refreshing change from the usual coffee menu. If you love something with hint of cinnamon, go for this.

Final Thoughts
Clubhaus Coffee may be new, but it’s already the kind of place you can picture becoming a regular hangout. It’s cozy yet modern, photogenic without being pretentious, and most importantly, the food is worth coming back for. Whether you’re here to work, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a quiet cup of coffee, it delivers on both atmosphere and flavor.

And with more dishes expected after the soft opening, I have a feeling Clubhaus is just getting started.
