If you’re a fan of Abaca (like I am), here’s some exciting news: Abaca Baking Company has officially opened a brand-new branch at SM Seaside City Cebu—and it’s not just any branch. This one is their second biggest in Cebu, and you’ll feel it the moment you step inside.

The space is incredibly spacious with plenty of seating, making it perfect for solo brunches, casual dates, or long catch-ups over coffee and cake. The interiors are warm, inviting, and unmistakably Abaca—with natural tones, wood accents, and a vibe that feels both cozy and refined. Of course, the staff are friendly and attentive too, which always makes the experience better.

What to Expect

This branch offers the full Abaca experience, including:

• A wide variety of artisan breads, croissants, cookies, and cakes (I’ll definitely be back for more)
• A complete menu for dine-in meals—everything from breakfast plates to hearty mains
• A great range of coffee and non-coffee beverages that go beyond the basics

🍽️ What I Tried (and Loved)

Since I’ve been to other Abaca branches before, I made it a point to try something new this time:

Croque Monsieur
Smoked ham, Emmental, béchamel, Gruyère, Dijon mustard, and cornichon on their signature 36-hour sourdough. First time trying it and just wow! This was toasty, cheesy, and perfectly savory. A total standout.

Pan-Roasted Half Chicken
Served with French beans, creamy mashed potatoes, and pan gravy. Tender, flavorful, and comforting—like something you’d enjoy during the holidays.

Banana Latte
A fun, aromatic twist on the usual coffee order with hint of banana flavor. This was lightly sweet, and something I’ll definitely get again, not all the time but if i’m craving for it.

Final Thoughts

I’ve been a longtime fan of Abaca, and I can confidently say: this new branch is worth visiting. Whether you’re craving good coffee, excellent pastries, or a full-on brunch moment, this space delivers on all fronts. Plus, the ambiance and service make you want to stay longer than planned.
