I still cannot believe I am saying this! I am officially back at the Best Cebu Blogs Awards for the fourth time, and I could not be more thrilled. The moment I received the news, I was smiling from ear to ear. Chibugan Kini, our little food haven for all things delicious, has made it to the Top 3 finalists for Best Cebu Food Blogger of the Year! Who would have thought that enjoying food could actually lead to winning? Or as I like to say in Cebuano, “pag mu-chibug, pwede diay mudaug?”

Thinking back to when I first started sharing my food adventures, it was honestly so random. It was during the COVID lockdown, a time when the world felt paused and uncertain. I was ordering food from local businesses to help them thrive during the pandemic, and at the same time, I was exploring new dishes and sharing them on my socials. It was simple, almost playful at first, posting pictures of meals, leaving short reviews, and highlighting local flavors. I never imagined that something born out of necessity and curiosity could grow into a full-fledged platform with a community of followers who share the same love for food and discovery.

From those humble beginnings, our following started to grow, and the journey became even more exciting. Late-night food hunts, countless photos, endless taste tests, spontaneous café hoppings, and most importantly, sharing every delicious experience with all of you who have been following along. Every recommendation, every story, every bite, it all brought me here, and I feel so grateful. Your messages, feedback, and encouragement have been fuel for every post. Knowing that my stories help people discover new places, support local businesses, and even create little moments of joy in their day is the greatest reward of all.
