Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 Opens, Offering Nearly ₱2 Million in Prizes for Filipino Students

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 invites Grades 8 to 10 students from government-managed science high schools to develop innovative STEM solutions, with nearly ₱2 million in prizes available.

Young Filipinos have the potential to create solutions that make a real difference in their communities. From addressing environmental challenges to finding smarter ways to solve everyday problems, science and technology can turn fresh ideas into meaningful innovations.

This is the goal of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026, which is now accepting entries for its fourth Philippine edition. In partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), Samsung is inviting students to use their knowledge of science and technology to develop solutions to real-world challenges.

Now on its 16th year globally, the competition provides a platform for young innovators to showcase their ideas, with nearly ₱2 million worth of prizes awaiting the top teams, their schools, and teacher-advisers.

Three Themes for Young Innovators

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 is open to students in Grades 8 to 10 from government-managed science high schools across the Philippines. Each team may consist of up to four students and one teacher-adviser.

Participants can develop proposals under any of the competition’s three themes:

Environmental Sustainability Through Technology encourages students to explore ways to reduce waste, reuse and recycle materials, and promote more sustainable practices through STEM.

Social Change Through Tech and Sport challenges participants to explore how technology and sports can support education, entrepreneurship, and social inclusion, creating more opportunities for young people.

Solving Community Problems With AI invites students to develop practical solutions using artificial intelligence while promoting critical thinking and responsible technology use.

Through these themes, students can explore challenges that matter to their communities and turn their ideas into potential solutions.

How to Join Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026

Interested students can prepare a STEM-focused proposal addressing a community, social change, or environmental sustainability challenge.

Entries may be submitted in Microsoft Word format, with a maximum of 3,000 words or seven pages, or in PowerPoint format, with up to six slides. All submissions must be converted to PDF files not exceeding 40 MB.

Proposals will be evaluated based on design innovation, community relevance, feasibility, STEM integration, sustainability, and clarity.

The deadline for submissions is November 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

The Top 10 shortlisted teams will be announced on November 16 and receive mentoring from a Samsung coach to refine their proposals. They will then present their final ideas to a board of judges on December 7, with the top three teams scheduled to be announced on December 15, 2026.

Nearly ₱2 Million in Prizes Up for Grabs

Aside from the opportunity to develop and present their ideas, participants can also win prizes for their schools and teacher-advisers.

The Grand Prize is valued at ₱730,000, followed by ₱595,000 for the Second Prize and ₱465,000 for the Third Prize. The awards include Samsung devices for the winning schools and teams, as well as cash prizes for students and their teacher-advisers.

The remaining teams in the Top 10 will also receive cash prizes, recognizing their efforts and innovative proposals.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Changemakers

Since its Philippine launch in 2023, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow has supported students and teachers in developing ideas with meaningful community impact.

Among the notable projects from previous editions is the 2025 winning entry from Cavite Science Integrated School, which introduced a solar-powered, water-quality sensing buoy designed to monitor mangrove ecosystem health. Other projects have included an egg-segregation solution and a low-cost, sustainable pest control solution intended to help farmers reduce their reliance on chemicals.

These innovations demonstrate how students can apply STEM knowledge to challenges beyond the classroom. They also highlight the importance of encouraging young people to think creatively and explore how technology can address real needs.

Through Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026, students are once again invited to use their creativity, knowledge, and problem-solving skills to help shape a better future.

Students and participating schools can learn more about the competition and submit their entries through the official Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Philippines website.
